Sophomore runner goes to state

Sophomore Casey Haffield will represent the Minnehaha Academy’s girls’ varsity cross-country team at the state meet in Northfield, Minn., on Nov. 6. Haffield finished ninth with a 4k time of 14:42 at the Section 4A meet  at Battle Creek Park in Maplewood, Minn. As a team, Minnehaha finished sixth; Holy Family Catholic finished in first place.

At the conference meet on Tues., Oct. 19, Minnehaha finished in fourth place out of nine teams, and two Minnehaha runners finished in the top twenty. Haffield finished in 10th place overall with a time of 16:22, and sophomore Katherine Lubar finished in 19th place with a time of 16:47.
