His recent book, Chinese-Ness: The Meanings of Identity and the Nature of Belonging, comments on identity and culture. It won a Minnesota Book Award for Memoir/Creative Non-Fiction. They discuss his book and his beliefs about identity, heritage, and Chinese/American culture.
