Minnehaha Academy has a new French Amity this year, Marion Kiefer from Strasbourg, France. During her time at Minnehaha she will be assisting French teacher Mark Nor- lander with teaching the French classes and she will be working on her English. “I came to the United States because I would like to learn the language and the best way to do that is to speak and hear it,” said Kiefer.

For the next month, Kiefer will be staying with the family of senior Rachel and freshman Zach Orr.

So far Kiefer has seen many differences between Minnehaha and the French schools where she grew up. She said that Minne- haha has many more activities that are run through the school such as athletic teams. Kiefer also commented that our students talk in class much more than students in France are allowed to.

When asked what her favorite part about Minnehaha has been so far Kiefer said, “to be with the students, I find them very nice.”
