This Fall’s musical will be horrifically good!
This year’s fall musical is said to be unlike many other musicals of similar setting and style. This fall production is Little Shop of Horrors.
The musical was staged at Minnehaha in 1995 and again in 2010. Director Nicholas Freeman decided to bring it back this year because he said it would be a good fit for the students currently in the theater program.
“Whenever I pick a show,” said Freeman, “I think about the core people that I have to tell stories with, and this particular group of people I thought would nail this story.”
In Little Shop of Horrors, a plant shows up and it has a taste for blood, then people.
“Most likely, we’ll recommend it for students 12 and up,” said Freeman. “You might not want to bring preschoolers to the show. Might be a little scary for them. But it’s meant to be really fun.”
