Season ends with disappointing loss to Governors
By Karl Hedlund Talon Staff WriterThis year the Minnehaha Academy varsity football team ended their season seventh in the Tri-Metro Conference with a conference record of 3-4. Minnehaha currently has a win percentage of .500 with a record of 4-4 overall.
“There is no doubt the highlight was our last minute win against Breck,” said Assistant Coach Scott Scholl.
The Redhawks scored a touchdown that left less than one second on the clock, to beat the Breck Mustangs 21-20. The touchdown pass was between sophomore quarterback Bjorn Halvorson and senior wide receiver Joel Rienhardt, with senior Spencer Summers kicking the winning extra point.
The Redhawks lost to the St. Paul Johnson Governors 12-6 in their first section game.
