Spring update: girls’ lacrosse

With the loss of field space, the girls lacrosse team will have practices at Vadnais Sports Center near Gentry Academy in Vadnais Heights.

This season the girls Lacrosse team will co-op with DeLaSalle High School and Gentry Academy. As it is the first year the girls lacrosse team incorporates Gentry academy in their co-op, they have high hopes for a successful season.

“The Gentry girls are very serious, [which] will hopefully add a supportive element to the team” said athletic director Josh Thurow.

The IMAC conference that the girls compete in will give them good competition and a challenge. The conference consist of Blake, Breck, Providence Academy, St. Paul Academy and Mounds Park Academy. “[They] are all very competitive and good teams,” said Thurow.

The team hopes that the growth in numbers will have a positive impact and help them increase their number of wins compared to last season.

Despite the small team, everyone has high hopes for the girls lacrosse team to have a successful run this season, and hopefully improve from last season.
