Minnehaha joins forces with state’s journalism students

Students from three journalism classes at Minnehaha spent Oct. 9 at the annual Minnesota High School Press Association’s state convention held at the University of Minnesota’s Coffman Union. More than 500 students were registered for the event; 24 Minnehaha students from the newspaper/website, yearbook and beginning journalism classes joined adviser Reid Westrem in attending. At the event, students attended three hourlong workshop sessions of their choice, followed by a keynote address from writing specialist Bobby Hawthorne. To conclude the event, awards were presented honoring work done during the 2011-2012 academic year.
