Time for a redesign

Flag design is meant to achieve simplicity yet recognizability. The Minnesota flag didn’t get the memo. It has 67 circles, 19 stars, three different dates, seven flowers, a French phrase, the state’s name, and a seal featuring a landscape drawing in the middle. The flag’s not even distinct; 15 states have flags with a blue background and a seal in the middle. No one remembers what the state flag looks like, and fewer people can draw it. It’s even problematic to seal the deal. The seal depicts a Native American being pushed westward by a white settler. Modern edits have made the Native American be galloping towards the farmer, but that doesn’t make it much better. Minnesota should get a new flag.
