Student develops clothing company with family
Minnehaha Academy junior Jayven Williamson said that it all started with his brother getting a tattoo.
It resulted in a sibling effort to create a clothing company called 37th Street Brand. Jayven and Jose, Jr. (’17), a college junior who wanted a meaningful design for his tattoo, launched their company on August 6, with a Sept. 10 presale of t-shirts on Instagram.
The entire family has had a part in shaping the company, Jayven Williamson said, with the four kids contributing money and parents giving advice, because “they all have the same dreams.” Initial orders were taken for a single hoodie sweatshirt, but Williamson said future plans include a much wider assortment of products.
