The Minnehaha Academy Players are set to debut their fall show “The Miracle Worker” tonight at 7 p.m. The show follows a young Helen Keller as she learns to communicate with the help of her teacher, Annie Sullivan.

Unlike conventional theater setups, “The Miracle Worker” will be performed backstage in a black-box, theater-in-the-round setting, where audience members are seated around the action to create a more intimate environment.

Helen Keller will be played by sophomore Greta Hallberg and Annie Sullivan by senior Margot Leiner.

Four shows are scheduled for this weekend: one tonight at 7:30 p.m., one Friday at 7:30 p.m. and two Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday’s 2 p.m. matinee performance will feature a post-show cast Q&A.

Tickets, sold at the door, are priced at $5 for students and $10 for adults.
