Debate (noun): “A discussion, as of a public question in an assembly, involving opposing viewpoints.”

Minnehaha Academy’s debate team is led by World History, AP Government and Speech/Debate teacher Nathan Johnson and senior captains Caroline Pellegrin and Scott Stewart. The team so far has attended three tournaments at Eastview High School, Minneapolis Southwest High School, and Stillwater High School. The season four more tournaments, taking place at high schools in Burnsville, Mankato, Minnetonka and St. Paul.

“My expectations this year, are not a win lose record,” said (somebody). “But more to have people improve on their speaking skills, and their learning skills.”

The team strives to continue its impressive run from last year that finished with a second place trophy in Class-A at the Minnesota State Debate Tournament.
