International Space Station invites student involvement
Next spring Minnehaha Academy will have the opportunity to send a science experiment to the International Space Station. This will be the first time a school outside of California has taken part in the program. Past projects have included mixing concrete in space and growing plants.
“I think it’s a fantastic opportunity for students to design and have a real life experiment,” said Nancy Cripe, sophomore biology and honors anatomy teacher. “So often, labs don’t go anywhere or do anything. Now students can have something with actual value for the space program.”
Student applications to participate in the project were due May 23, 2012.
