“What shall you wear to the party?”

“What shall you wear to the party?”

Luke Von Arx’s opinion on what you should wear for Halloween.

I know Halloween has passed but maybe there is a Halloween party this weekend. Maybe you’re looking for a costume idea. If this is you, you’ve come to the right place. I found the top five most searched for costumes on the internet and reviewed them. I also had to give my top five to tell everyone about the top five best costumes.

5. Witch

Rating: 3.8

Explanation: Being a witch for Halloween, for me at least, is a classic. It’s not always the most creative costume you could find but wearing a witch costume will always fit in at a party. However, the more I think about the witch costume the more I don’t like it.  Witches are generally associated with evil, I mean think about it, have you ever seen a witch in a movie or TV show that wasn’t trying to do something extremely dark and scary, I don’t think so.

4. Dinosaurs

Rating:5.5

Explanation: With a Jurassic World movie coming out last summer being a dinosaur this Halloween seems like a great costume to me. Dinosaurs, just like witches, don’t have the best rep in movies.   Just about every time you see a dinosaur in a movie, it’s eating a person or a group of people and it’s pretty bloody. I still think this could be a very good costume simply because the Jurassic Park movies are fantastic.  Maybe if there were some really good movies about witches, more people would like them too.

3. Unicorn

Rating:4.4

Explanation: Dressing up as a unicorn is an interesting costume idea.  I’ve never seen a person dress up as a unicorn for Halloween so I have no idea how this made the “top five” list of costumes. I actually might like this costume because it’s a happy and lighthearted alternative to the dark and scary costumes most people choose for Halloween.  So while it’s not the worst costume ever, I’m just not sure about it, I could go either way on this one.

2. Spider-Man

Rating:7.3

Explanation: Spider-Man, to me, is the absolute classic of all Halloween costumes. If you haven’t been Spider-Man at least once in your life, you’ve missed out on being one of the best super heroes ever. The whole time you’re trick or treating you can act like your shooting out spider webs when you’re really just making noise.  Man, those were the days. You just can’t go wrong being Spider-Man for Halloween.

1.Fortnite

Rating:4.9

Explanation: Fortnite is the biggest video game on the planet right now so you’ll see a lot of Fortnite characters this Halloween. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Fortnite is a fun game to play but at some point all the hype has to stop. I’ve never seen people wear a video game’s character for Halloween before so the fact that Fortnite is the first game to do that angers me. Why haven’t I seen costumes from far superior games like Mario Brothers or one of the Pokémon characters?

My top five

5. Sports Jerseys

Explanation: When in doubt just put on your favorite jersey and say your that person. I can’t tell you how many times I was Adrian Peterson just because he was my favorite player. Also it is the easiest way to get free candy with doing literally no work. It’s basically free because you probably already have a jersey, so instead of wasting money on a average costume, you get a ton of free candy.

4.Kool Aid Man

Explantion: Who doesn’t like Kool Aid. This is hands down the best food or drink costume on the planet. Nothing can top the sweetness of Kool Aid. I will never say no to cool aid and I think most people would agree with me that this is the best go to drink ever created.

3. Woody  from Toy Story

Explantion: Woody is in one of the greatest kid’s movies of all time, Toy Story.  When I was younger, I didn’t know I could dress up as Woody for Halloween. I’m a little angry now that I know, I mean, come on Mom.  I can think of so many things I could have done to make it the best costume ever, like putting a string on my leg and if someone pulls on it say “I’ve got a snake in my boot”, or write Andy on the bottom of my shoe. What a costume that would have been. . .

2. Tellatubbies

Explanation: How funny would it be if a teenager showed up in a Tellatubbies costume at your door asking for candy?  I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from laughing. Seeing a high school student at a Halloween party as Dipsy, Po, Tinky Winky or Laa-Laa might make it one of the funniest costume of all time. (I had to look their names up on the internet)

1. Frozone from the Incredibles

Explanation: Is Frozone one of the best new costumes ever?  Anyone who would try to argue against that idea can come straight to me, Luke Von Arx. Come prepared to lose the argument in an embarrassing fashion. The Incredibles is not just the best kids movie of all time, it’s maybe the very best movie of all time.  Frozone is the funniest person in the movie and has the coolest super power ever created. For those of you who don’t already know, he’s able to freeze anything and create ice out of nothing. The only bad thing anyone can say about Frozone is he wasn’t in the Incredibles movies enough.
