Today, after a comedic assembly from MA’s two Slovak students, Matus Kocalka and Adam Hano, principal Jason Wenschlag went over the basic requirements for MA’s lockdown drill.
Two basic categories were listed: code red and code yellow. An alarm and voice would speak through the intercom, alerting students of the current situation. Code red represented an immediate danger and need of security, while code yellow was simply a cautious warning.
Although grim topics like school shootings and burglary mind sound unnecessary to prepare for, a solid system and precautionary measures are beneficial to have.
Wenschlag mentioned to expect another lockdown drill some time in January.
