Looking to improve shooting scores and averages throughout the upcoming season, Grant Shafranski and his girls’ golf team began practices at the start of April. Girls’ golf was one of the only sports that was not affected by the explosion that happened last summer.
Still, they have a delayed start to their season due to their main location, Hiawatha Golf Club, being closed. Despite the snow, there is a possibility of practice location change but is not definite.
This year the girls’ golf team will have enough participants for a full roster which is higher participation from previous seasons.
“We’re going to feel more like a team,” said senior captain Georgia Noble excited about the higher number of participants. “We could maybe have a JV team like the other schools, and it will motivate people to do their best!”
